Demo pieces which show how authentic can the HW recording sound compared to the recording made directly on the placeDuring the course of sampling the organ, we made also several recordings of live performed compositions using the real instrument of St. Carlo church while the microphones were in the very same position as during the sampling process. This gave the idea to make a comparison between the recordings made in the church (authentic) and the recordings made at home with the Hauptwerk version of the sample set (virtual). There are 6 recordings of very short early Italian compositions published below here, numbered "Composition 1 - 6". Your task is to judge which was recorded at home using Hauptwerk software (called virtual recording) and which was recorded directly on the place itself using the real instrument (called authentic recording). As this is an audition quiz, you should be sincere and NOT use any software analysis or visualizations. You should base your judgment solely on your audition, i.e. listen to the playback of the compositions and judge. To make any software analysis impossible, only the mp3 versions of the recordings are available at this time. A note: it is not said in advance how many of the 6 recordings are virtual and how many are authentic. It can well happen that all of them were recorded in Hauptwerk or all of them recorded in real world. Also, any other mix is possible (5:1, 4:2, 3:3, 2:4 or 1:5)! The results of the quizIf you are new to this page, you can think of doing the listening quiz first so that you have the authentic experience with the music, and I would suggest looking at the results only then, to see if you were correct in your guessing.
